This original postcard advertised The Who, The Electric Prunes, Thyme and Soap appearing at The Grande Ballroom in March 1968. The Grande Ballroom series produced some of the finest imagery from the 1960s music scene. In many cases, promoter Russ Gibb chose to only produce postcards to promote events. That being the case, Grande cards, and card sets have become one of the most highly sought-after items by serious collectors.

Gary Grimshaw was an influential American graphic artist and poster designer who made a significant impact on the counterculture and rock music scene during the 1960s and beyond. He was closely associated with the Detroit music scene and was responsible for creating posters for legendary bands and artists, such as The MC5, The Stooges, and the Grateful Dead.
