We are pleased to offer for just the second time in our auction this exceedingly rare and unique original printing poster from the Brazilian Psychedelic Rock Music era. Psychedelic rock flourished in Brazil beginning in the 1960s and 1970s onward. Its music gave birth to a living breathing progressing genre that has influenced samba and bossa nova national rock and jazz folkloric regional styles and modern Brazilian classical music.

BARATOS AFINS was a legendary record store owned by LUIZ CALANCA a public figure known in Brazil when music is the subject. In 2003 he celebrated 25 years of existence of his store with 4 nights of an enormous cast made up of successful Brazilian musicians and new talents. The poster was designed by artist ALEXANDRE BRAGA who worked mostly with illustration and advertising for many years. It’s a tribute to one of the greatest psychedelic pioneer artists Wes Wilson by the use of Fillmore type melted with Art Nouveau elements.

Recently LUIZ CALANCA appeared in a documentary series named MY RECORD STORE (MINHA LOJA DE DISCOS) you can easily find on youtube. This first edition print is a true example of the heavy impact of Brazilian rock culture.
