The Grateful Dead took the stage at Golden Hall in San Diego for 2 nights in the beginning of 1978 following the tour opener in San Bernardino the night before. This poster was designed by renowned artist Randy Tuten. The Uncle Sam skeleton figure was created by Gary Gutierrez and appeared in the The Grateful Dead movie.
These San Diego concerts were unique and are well known in Deadhead circles as "The Bobby Shows". Jerry did no singing either night and there were no Jerry songs performed because he was recovering from a nasty bout of laryngitis one that would plague him for the rest of the tour. Interestingly however Garcia's guitar playing was on point at these shows. Rarely surfacing at public auction for collectors this PINHOLE FREE Bill Graham poster is certainly not one to be overlooked!
