This early Grateful Dead concert program has EVERYTHING going for it: Mint condition quality Legendary venue Legendary bands Beautiful cover design by artist Don Ryder and last but not least: That quirky variant often some of the best collectibles have: Much like the popular FD-22 Frankenstein Mouse Kelley image the band name is spelled  (Greatful) incorrectly. As a matter of fact the band “Sparrow” were originally listed on the bill and printed on the posters for this show (The Grateful Dead are only listed on the program not the posters).

There are no known audio recordings of the Dead’s set that date however a newspaper article published the day of the show (Oakland Tribune 6/28/67 pg 30) mentions all the bands in the program as playing the event including the Dead. Another fun thing about this program is on the back page there are advertisements for future events - one being The Doors at Oakland Coliseum and also the opening of The Carousel Ballroom "Starting Soon". It’s a miracle this original program has survived all this time in such great condition! In July 2018 a same graded example realized $259 in our auction.
