1970–UCSD Polo Field-Intercollegiate Baseball Facility-Pink Floyd Concert Poster-FIRST PAE APPEARANCE! PAE Graded Near Mint “89”

Here’s another poster we’ve never auctioned before until now. On 10/18/70 Pink Floyd performed in San Diego at the Intercollegiate Baseball Facility (Polo Field) at UCSD with Hot Tuna and Leon Russell. 

This was Pink Floyd’s FIRST time playing in San Diego! The North American Tour was supporting their “Atom Heart Mother” album and they had played the previous month for their largest audience ever (over 500 000 people) in Paris. Although the band was extremely successful already in Europe their popularity had not grown to that degree in the states yet. They were listed third in San Diego supporting Hot Tuna and Leon Russell. Very soon all that would begin to change with their next couple studio album releases most notably Dark Side of the Moon. 

The San Diego date was one of the few where the experimental song "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" was performed live. The band sat at a little folding table and ate for part of the song with tapes of voices and sound effects playing in the background. Presented by the ASUCSD Program Board the tickets for this show only cost $3.50 for general admission. The original poster we have here was designed by artist Linda Trujillo. Perhaps most important is this piece has survived in SUPER CLEAN and PINHOLE FREE Condition!
