Here we have a rare uncut proof sheet in our auction for the FIRST TIME! The album cover for The Grateful Dead’s 1973 release "Wake of The Flood" exhibits an amazing painting by Rick Griffin. As talented as Griffin was with pen and ink his touch with a brush was equally skillful. After his conversion to Christianity the artist devoted a great deal of his work to religious themes. The image of the Reaper came from Rick's visual interpretation of scripture after reading Revelations.
A very special and hard to find insider item not to be ignored as we may not see another again if EVER! This uncut proof sheet also displays the reverse of the album blank where the song titles were to be printed.
