This original poster has just emerged from a recently unearthed and long held collection of Boston Tea Party material owned by a long time collector and participant of the New England music scene!
We are pleased to offer this rare poster for the first time in our auction! The seminal Blues innovator John Mayall is featured at the Boston Tea Party on Columbus Day in 1970. This concert would have been right around the time of the release of the album “Turning point” that features the classic Blues Harp tune “Room to Move”. By the start of the 1970's Mayall had relocated in the US where he spent most of the next 15 years recording with local musicians for various labels.
The historic Boston Tea Party was located at 53 East Berkeley Street in the South End from 1967-1969 before moving to its new location at 15 Lansdowne Street through 1970. Material from the Boston Tea Party is ALWAYS coveted by collectors and music fans alike!
