An entire page in the Art of Rock is devoted to this series of spectacular posters and handbills on page 287. In late January and early February of 1968 The Grateful Dead and Quicksilver Messenger Service set out on a tour of the Pacific Northwest. The Tour was dubbed the Quick and the Dead and six different posters & handbills showing the six different venues were issued. The design by George Hunter of The Charlatans featured a unique distressed “Wild West” motif that is very popular with collectors.
