This original program is signed by 15 legendary figures in attendance at the 1969 Woodstock Festival: Ken Kesey Paul Krassner (Merry Prankster) Ken Babbs (Merry Prankster) Wavy Gravy (Hugh Romney) Ritchie Havens Bobby Weir (GD) Mickey Hart (GD) Grace Slick (JA) Paul Kantner (JA) Levon Helm (The Band)  Country Joe McDonald Barry Melton (Country Joe & The Fish) Gary "Chicken" Hirsh (Country Joe & The Fish) Bruce Barthol (Country Joe & The Fish) and David Cohen (Country Joe & The Fish).

As we continue to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Woodstock we are proud to offer this incredible Original Program in our auction. Real signatures link people to the movements they were directly involved in as well as emotionally inspiring the rest of us who would admire such a document in time. THIS SIGNED PIECE IS ONE OF A KIND and unlike any other example of this program you will come across!

Included in the jaw dropping collection of legendary signatures on this piece is the late Merry Prankster icon Paul Krassner. Paul sadly left this earth recently a couple months ago. Not only was he a key figure in the counterculture era but also the founder of the Youth International Party (The Yippies) in 1967. He was a prolific writer and comedian as well. This original program also includes signatures by other historical icons no longer with us like Jefferson Airplane's Paul Kantner The Band's Levon Helm the famous festival opener Ritchie Havens and the one & only Ken Kesey.

While exhibiting all of the above signatures on the inside semi-transparent cover page of this program it also includes additional famous signatures by Bob Weir and Mickey Hart of The Grateful Dead Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane Hog Farm founder Wavy Gravy and Merry Prankster Ken Babbs! Ten signatures circle the center design on the page and look absolutely AMAZING to say the least. Kesey's Levon's Kantner's and Babbs' add that intimate personal touch as an added bonus! The additional five signatures toward the back of the book on the yellow Country Joe page (see photo) are by Country Joe McDonald Barry (Fish) Melton Gary (Chicken) Hirsh Bruce Barthol and David Cohen -- all members of Country Joe And The Fish!

It just keeps getting better. It's no secret that high quality condition is number one when it comes to savy collecting of vintage material. Other examples of this program have surfaced over the years but often in very poor condition and usually with water damage due to all the rain at the festival. This example here is one of the FINEST QUALITY CONDITION programs we've handled or seen offered especially with this many incredible signatures. The front and back cover have very minimal wear on the edges and the inside pages are clean and fresh. This piece was certainly stored carefully and lovingly for 50 years without a doubt.

The 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Festival is legendary. It represented the peak of the 1960's music scene. In many ways it also signified the end of the era. The 52 page program for the event is iconic and deserves a place in every collection. THIS particular specimen stands proudly in a league of its own for a multitude of reasons. A prize like this will forever remain a top showstopper in whomever's collection it shall reside in. Read our blog dated 1/20/18 where we discuss the skyrocketing demand for signed material such as this lot. Bid accordingly!
