We are pleased to offer this Clash poster for the FIRST TIME in our auction! This large original first printing promotes The Clash at the Markthalle convention center in Hamburg Germany during the spring of 1980. The band had just recently released their iconic album "London Calling" several months prior which hit number 9 on the British charts. The cover of the album was based on the cover of Elvis Presley's self-titled 1956 debut LP and became one of the best known in the history of punk rock. The Clash were without a doubt a major leader in the British punk rock and New Wave movements of the late seventies and eighties.
