Pacific Northwest Airplane Style! This is the FIRST TIME we’ve offered this amazing Original Handbill in our auction and it shines bright with an incredible 9.8 CGC grade!
Jefferson Airplane were joined by The Byrds P.H. Phactor Jug Band and Magic Fern in Portland on May 28th 1967. This handbill was designed by P.H. Phactor Jug Band original drummer / founding member Paul Bassett. Paul also founded AIR SIGN COMPANY designing poster art during the late sixties that often had an essence of artificial intelligence to them. This is a great example of his splendid eye appealing images with the Jefferson Airplane and Byrds names forming the image of a buffalo.
It's no secret that Jefferson Airplane enjoys a collector following and the sad passing of Marty Balin late last year has only spurred an increase in interest. It’s also well known that material from the pacific northwest is highly sought after and harder to find in top shape as time goes on. This scarce 9.8 graded specimen is bound to draw attention in our auction. Handbills and postcards are currently one of the hottest segments of the market. Read our blog dated 5/18/18 for details!
