This lot will be accompanied by a Letter of Provenance attesting to the fact that it resided in the historic Early '66 Time Capsule Collection one of the most exciting and important concert poster discoveries of the past 20 years.
This is only the third CGC graded example of this issue to surface in our auction! It's a very early Grateful Dead poster created for the Zen Mountain Center Benefit held at the Avalon in late ‘66. A very young Grateful Dead performed along with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Big Brother as the opening bands however there are no audio recordings or known set lists archived of the concert. The event was called "A Zenefit".
Early Grateful Dead posters from this era with low print runs and low survival rates seldom turn up in our auction. We've only seen this original poster surface through our hands 4 times in the past 10 years and only two of them were certified by CGC. This specimen here is 100% Original with no restoration!
