This lot will be accompanied by a Letter of Provenance attesting to the fact that it resided in the historic Early '66 Time Capsule Collection one of the most exciting and important concert poster discoveries of the past 20 years.
News spread quickly a few months ago about the sad passing of Roky Erickson at age 71 which has already spurred a massive interest in concert material for collectors and fans alike. Texas native Roger Kynard "Roky" Erickson was a founding member of The 13th Floor Elevators and a pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre. The group was a major innovator of '60s Rock & the "San Francisco Sound". They made several stops to the Fillmore and Avalon early on. This attractive poster ia a great example of an elevators poster by a seldom used Family Dog Artist Steve Renick.
The Original First Printing of FD-34 doesn't surface in our auctions very often. This is only the third CGC graded example we've come across. In February 2018 a pristine 9.8 graded example reached a record breaking high water mark of $2082 in our auction. This one here will attract a lot of interest from collectors and yet also provide a special opportunity to acquire this issue for less than the higher mint examples would command.
