BEHOLD! In the hierarchy of early Doors collectibles one of the MOST POPULAR issues ever created is now available with CGC Grading for the FIRST TIME! This original poster was produced for a 2 week run of concerts at the Whisky A Go Go’s San Francisco location. The Doors were just beginning to blossom into a musical force having only played the Fillmore for the first time a month earlier and third on the bill (BG-44).
Presented by Love Conspiracy Commune the Whisky A Go Go concerts began on Valentine’s Day 1967 featuring The Peanut Butter Conspiracy is support as well as a lively Go-Go dancer named Kathy Holland. Although this poster advertises a 2 week run the Doors only performed on the 14th and 15th.
The specimen you see here is in simply amazing JAW-DROPPING condition. Featured as a full page spread on page 189 of The Art of Rock this first edition poster was originally printed black and white with the Union Logo at the bottom left corner. The poster pictured in the AOR book is hand colored.
Doors posters are amongst the most sought after in the marketplace. Here you can finally own this SUPERB MUSEUM QUALITY important issue that very seldom comes up for public sale with CGC GRADING!
