Coverage of Marty Balin's sad passing late last year has spurred worldwide interest in The Airplane The Matrix and Balin's role with both. Balin co-founded Jefferson Airplane. He got a group of investors together to open the Matrix so San Francisco bands playing psychedelic music would have a dedicated performance space to call their own. Balin gave the investors a 75% interest in the club while keeping a 25% interest for himself in return for managing the club. The Matrix was a tiny San Francisco club that held 150. How many copies of this foil poster could have been created to promote this small show?
