For the First Time in our auction we’re offering this classic 38 Special Original Poster from Toledo Sports Arena in 1982. Rainbow and Iron Maiden are also featured on the bill. 38 Special was formed in Jacksonville Florida by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant in 1974. The band's first two albums had a strong southern rock influence. By the early 1980’s they shifted to a more accessible arena rock style.
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow were supporting their 6th studio album release “Straight Between the Eyes”. Iron Maiden opened the show and were still in their early stages about to launch their career the following year with the “Piece of Mind” album. Iron Maiden is considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history and they still perform to this day – currently embarking on a US / World Tour this summer! Maiden f*%#ing rules!
There are numerous pirate black and white reproductions of this poster floating around – don’t be fooled by them. This example is a 100% Original Pre-Concert First Printing!
