We are very pleased to offer this beautiful Count Basie cardboard poster for the FIRST TIME in our auction! Also featured at this Buffalo concert was jazz legend Stan Kenton. In 1960 with a new look and new sound he re-vamped his orchestra into a larger group with a “Mellophonium” section added. This helped the Kenton Orchestra experience an upsurge in popularity from 1960 to 1963.

In the world of jazz music Count Basie stands out as a true icon. In the 1960's he made a huge comeback when producer Quincy Jones arranged and conducted the album “This Time by Basie!” which launched the Count back onto the pop charts right before the british invasion. Very few of these original pre-concert cardboard jazz posters have survived the test of time in ANY condition. This example is SUPER CLEAN with no tears or pinholes. Amazing!
