Early material from the tiny Matrix club in San Francisco’s Marina is super scarce and currently undervalued relative to their historical importance and design. This Original Handbill features a February 1966 week-long residency by Portland Oregon’s own P.H. Phactor Jug Band. They were one of the first transitional bands blending acoustic old time folk with ballroom psychedelic acid rock. The seven piece group also performed at the legendary Red Dog Saloon with The Charlatans and Big Brother as well as the popular San Fran coffee house Cedar Alley. A super early HISTORICAL piece we've never offered in our auction before until now!
