This lot will be accompanied by a Letter of Provenance attesting to the fact that it resided in the historic Early '66 Time Capsule Collection one of the most exciting and important concert poster discoveries of the past 20 years.
The Matrix a small San Francisco club in the Marina produced some of the finest concert art of the era. The most recognized from the venue are Victor Moscoso's Neon Rose posters. In addition to those eye appealing posters there were also a wonderfully creative selection of Original Handbills produced in very small quantities! These pieces are both beautiful and SCARCE like this one designed by San Francisco's own Ray Andersen.
Ray Andersen was projectionist and producer of the HOLY SEE LIGHT SHOW which was a part of many Bay Area Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane concerts during the late 60’s. He also owned a famous Record Store in San Francisco called “Grooves”. Andersen operated and presided over the store at Market Street and Octavia Boulevard for over two decades but sadly passed away in 2016.
