This lot will be accompanied by a Letter of Provenance attesting to the fact that it resided in the historic Early '66 Time Capsule Collection one of the most exciting and important concert poster discoveries of the past 20 years.
Given that PAE has dozens of clients endeavoring to build early BG and FD sets we anticipate unprecedented competition for the opportunity to add this masterpiece to one’s collection. Clearly this is one example where collector demand far exceeds the tiny almost impossible to locate supply. This famous design is coveted the world over and is sure to be the highlight of whichever collection in which it resides!
To understand the desirability of this poster is to understand the opportunity that this whole genre offers. This magnificent rarity was issued in well under 500 pieces and very few still survive today in ANY condition. This is just the THIRD CGC graded example we have ever offered offered. The previous example was graded 7.0 and realized a bargain price of $4 889 a little over a year ago in March 2018.
Advanced collectors all know that the Family Dog posters 1-4 are all extremely undervalued at current price levels and all but impossible to locate. The FD-1 aand the FD-2 already command prices of many tens of thousands of dollars the FD-3 and FD-4 are not yet there but probably one day very soon will be!
