This poster is the complete package – amazing quality incredible rarity and unbeatable historical importance! This is the very FIRST poster in the Bill Graham numbered series and it advertises performances by the Jefferson Airplane on Feb 4 – 6 1966. This poster measure 14 31/32” x 19” and promises “the Sights and Sounds of the Trips Festival.” Less than 500 BG1’s were produced 150 OP-1 with the Peter Bailey credit and the rest OP-2 where the artist’s name was removed. This poster grades MINT 97 according to the very strict grading standards of the Psychedelic Art Exchange. This poster is in pristine condition with bright colors and crisp paper. There are absolutely no flaws of any kind! This poster looks like it was created yesterday. This surely ranks as one of the finest known examples and is estimated to sell for multiples of the $1500 price level that damaged copies routinely change hands at. The last Mint copy to appear at auction was graded PAE 93 and brought $5250.00 . A rare opportunity to obtain a rare incredibly important poster in the ultimate state of preservation! Please read our recent blog on the importance of FIRST in a series before even contemplating the acquisition of this incredibly important item.
