Presenting the FIRST Example of this scarce early cardboard poster to appear in our auction! The English Beat rock band Herman’s Hermits are featured on this poster from Honolulu in 1965. Their #1 single “I’m Into Something Good” was released the year prior launching their career at the height of the British Invasion.
This Hawaii issue has SPECIAL HISTORIC significance for the band’s legacy as it was the date the Hermits lead singer Peter Noone met Elvis Presley for the first time and more importantly interviewed him from his bungalow in Honolulu! Upon completing a huge US tour ending in Hawaii the band performed this concert and were about to fly home the next day. Peter got a phone call and was told Elvis would like to meet Herman’s Hermits on his film set. Elvis was in Honolulu filming the movie “Paradise Hawaiian Style”. Noone was star struck and spoke directly with Elvis in person for about 2 hours which culminated into an impromptu interview.
