This is the first time we’ve offered this original handbill in our auction! Arena rock legends Journey are featured on this 1978 lineup with the Patti Smith Group supporting. This concert in Lansing celebrates the two powerhouse artists in the heat of their prime – with coinciding events launching their careers and climbing upwards into musical history forever!
In late 1977 Journey hired Steve Perry as their new lead singer and released their album “Infinity” a year later which contained their hit song "Wheel in the Sky". Patti Smith suffered a neck injury while touring in 1977 and a year later released her commercial breakthrough “Easter” including the successful single "Because the Night" which was co-written by Bruce Springsteen. This concert is part of her tour in support of that record.
