When it comes to music memorabilia most experts agree that there is The Beatles...and then everyone else. This rare original envelope was produced to deliver tickets to fans for the Beatles performance at Busch Stadium in Saint Louis on August 21 1966. This was the concert they played right before the historic Shea Stadium show 2 days later. This envelope was produced by the Dick Esser Ticket Agency.
The Beatles appearance in St. Louis in '66 was part of the historic bands’ last tour. Their touring experiences that year were becoming increasingly stressful for the group and were growing frustrated with live performance in general. This was due to the fact that neither they nor their audience could hear them play due to the high volume screams of their hysterical fan base.
This concert was held just three weeks after the release of “Revolver” and it was clear that the band was taking an exciting new direction with their recordings. The band would give up live performing and focus solely on the studio which adds further historical significance to this concert being one of the last.
Historic material for iconic performers like The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix are highly sought after and remain one of the most valued in the music memorabilia market today.
