This amazing original poster has just emerged from a recently unearthed and long held collection of Texas material owned by a long time resident and participant of the Austin music scene! Noted Austin poster artist Jim Franklin designed this original promotional poster in 1972 for the legendary Inner Sanctum Record Store! In the 60's and 70's Franklin was an underground cartoonist and poster designer for the Vulcan Gas Company and of course the legendary Armadillo World Headquarters.

Inner Sanctum Records opened three weeks after the Armadillo World Headquarters made its debut in August 1970 and was conveniently located near the venue. You could go see the headliner at the Armadillo because you bought their record at Inner Sanctum. If you liked the opening act you went back to Inner Sanctum and bought their album and that's where you saw a poster for the next show you wanted to see at the Armadillo! Austin music history at its finest!
