Songwriter Rickie Lee Jones released her debut album the year of this show in Texas and soon became an overnight sensation following her appearance on Saturday Night Live in April. She performed "Chuck E.'s in Love" and "Coolsville" and was subsequently dubbed "The Duchess of Coolsville" by Time Magazine. This concert at the famous Armadillo in Austin Texas was in support of her first record. The poster was designed by noted Armadillo artist Guy Juke.
Armadillo World Headquarters posters are currently enjoying top collector demand. This can be attributed to several reasons including scarcity historical significance as ground zero in the Texas psychedelic scene and the recently published book on the venue "Armadillo World Headquarters - A Memoir" by Eddie Wilson with Jesse Sublett and forward by Dave Marsh.
