This poster is signed in black ink by 3 founding members of The Allman Brothers Band Gregg Allman Butch Trucks and Jaimoe!
We have only offered this beautiful CGC certified original poster twice prior and they were not SIGNED like this specimen! As we have extensively reported about in our blog ANYTHING pertaining to The Allman Brother Band and Greg Allman has been RED HOT since the legend's unfortunate passing in 2017 - the same year we also lost drummer Butch Trucks. This incredible piece is far more than just "anything". We are offering a unique and very special opportunity in this lot for deep fans of this timeless group of musicians.
Talk about historic! The gathering at Watkins Glen in July of 1973 is one of the most memorable events in the annals of Rock history. An estimate 600 000 music fans gathered at a speedway in upstate New York for a day of unbelievable music and good times. At the time this was the largest attendance ever for a rock festival. The Grateful Dead The Band and The Allman Brothers: three of the most influential and talented electrified purveyors of the American roots music tradition took the stage for this once in a lifetime gathering.
In September 2018 an un-signed example in similar super clean condition reached $1150 in our auction. This gem you see here is SIGNED by 3 founding members of The Allman Brothers Band! More and more collectors are coming into the fold with the knowledge that musician's signatures add a whole other dimension to their treasures. Read our blog dated 1/20/18 where we discuss the skyrocketing demand for signed material such as this lot!
