Here we have an ULTRA SCARCE Jimi Hendrix original handbill being offered for the FIRST TIME in our auction! Continuing on their North American tour during summer of 1970 The Jimi Hendrix Experience: featuring Mitch Mitchell (drums) and Billy Cox (bass) performed at the Memorial Auditorium in Dallas. They brought back older songs not played as frequently in later years like “Fire” and even “Little Wing”.
A week after this show Jimi takes a short break from touring and heads to New York for his first recording session in the new Electric Lady Studios at 52 West 8th Street in Greenwich Village. Hendrix invites his friends Steve Winwood and Chris Wood from Traffic into the studio where they quickly break into an improv jam session. The month of June in 1970 was very eventful for legendary live shows and special recordings.
THIS VERY RARE handbill almost NEVER surfaces at public auction! Very few survived the ravages of time in ANY condition! Hendrix collectors should not pass up this opportunity because quite frankly... we may not see another example of this piece for a long long time.
