News spread quickly last week about the sad passing of Roky Erickson at age 71 which has already spurred a massive interest in concert material for collectors and fans alike. Texas native Roger Kynard "Roky" Erickson was a founding member of The 13th Floor Elevators and a pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre. In 1974 Erickson formed a new band which he creatively called "Bleib Alien". This is an original tour blank used for his 1975 tour which included several Texas area concerts most notably a stop at Austin’s legendary Castle Creek.
The artwork was designed by Tom Bauman a talented craftsman from the Texas music scene. Much of his work is displayed proudly at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the University of TX in Austin. This original poster is in superb museum quality condition and just emerged from a recently unearthed and long held collection of Texas material owned by a long time resident and participant of the Austin music scene!
