We are pleased to offer this original Nirvana relic for the FIRST TIME in our auction! In September 1993 DGC & Sub Pop Records released the Nirvana album “In Utero”. It was the follow up record after “Nevermind” had launched them into world wide success. The cover album art contained medical textbook imagery conveying frontman Kurt Cobain's outlook on his publicized life and his band's newfound fame. The subsequent "In Utero World Tour" was massive and highly demanding on the band.
This concert in Germany along with many other shows throughout the month of March 1994 was cancelled. They were originally planned to be re-scheduled later in the year however it would be less than a month later Kurt Cobain would be dead at age 27 from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to his head on April 5th. We don’t come across Nirvana material that often because it can be so difficult to find which makes this example a real treasure. There are tons of reprints of this kind of material out there but very few original first printings still exist today.
