Austin's own Georgetown Medical Band got their feet wet in the music industry two years prior when they defeated 112 other contestants in a huge Battle of the Bands competition held in Houston. The group took home a large advance from the Fender Guitar company and a new recording contract with International Artists Inc. These 1969 shows at the Vulcan were performed with the Mustangs and the Fox Blues Band supporting. Historic Texas rock and roll!
