This lot will be accompanied by a Letter of Provenance attesting to the fact that it resided in the historic Early '66 Time Capsule Collection one of the most exciting and important concert poster discoveries of the past 20 years.
Big Brother played the Matrix half a dozen times in March & April 1966. This issue was probably used for multiple shows around that time. After this couple month period Janis joined Big Brother and got increasingly too popular for a tiny tiny spot like the Matrix. Not that they didn’t come back again but they started a period of intensive work and travels. We are aware of 5-10 specimens that have surfaced over the past 5 decades in ANY condition. But once again this is in Museum Quality condition with an unimprovable provenance.
