This is the FIRST CGC Graded example of this killer Pinnacle poster we've ever auctioned! Victor Moscoso created this amazing piece to advertise an LA appearance of THE WHO at the Shrine Auditorium. The blues guitar of Peter Greene and the original Fleetwood Mac shared the stage as well as The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. This poster also has the added feature of becoming animated under a color wheel!
Designed as part of the Pinnacle Dance Concert Series this original first printing poster is a lasting tribute to those events! The Pinnacle driven by artist John Van Hammersveld along with Marc Chase and Sepp Donahower produced some of the most powerful and electrifying concerts in the history of Rock music at the Shrine Auditorium in the late ‘60’s. Needless to say The Who performing at the Shrine in 1968 combines two of the most legendary names of the era into one stellar collectible!
In August 2011 a non-CGC graded example in similar condition realized $1568 in our Mega Sale. CGC authentication has brought much needed integrity and stability to this very popular segment of the vintage concert materials marketplace. Simply by authenticating a collectible like this in any other market it would be worth several multiples of the previously sold examples.
