ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE #17 - Sept 14 1968 - Features RICK GRIFFIN cover illustration of cowboy mouse lighting up (of course as most of you already know Rick designed the Rolling Stone logo). A 2 page article on the underground comix inside features another black and white illustration by RICK GRIFFIN a R. CRUMB illustration with MR. NATURAL and some work by VICTOR MOSCOSO. Also includes large article on THE WHO postcard size illustration of the LEE CONKLIN "Leopard Woman" BG-134 concert poster used on the SANTANA cover a horrible review of CHEAP THRILLS (the BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING CO. LP). Large ad for a MOODY BLUES release with photos etc. Condition: Toning light foxing edge tears. PAE Graded Near Mint “83”

PUTNAM'S SONS NY 1980 - First Printing Quality Soft cover Book - 8 5/16" x 11 3/8" - 95 pages - Fantastique color front cover imagery by Rick Griffin Eyeball grappling Twin Snakes (DNA or Caduceus?) with vibrant red heart behind. Also features a brief intro by the author Gordon McClelland recapping a snapshot biographical sketch of Griffin's education at Chouinard Art School in California (now Cal Arts) and his early interest in surfing and music. Profusely illustrated in both full color along with black & white. Condition: Light difficult to see foxing on the inside front and back covers light bend upper right corner light residue where price tag was removed upper left corner light wear. RICK GRIFFIN Newspaper Tabloid - SURFING EYEBALL COVER - MAUI TIME - Vol 3 #2 - July 6 through 18 1999 - First/Only Printing Newspaper Tabloid - 13 1/2" x 11 1/2" - Full color front cover features a SURFIN' EYEBALL by RICK GRIFFIN. This was likely preliminary rough piece for his finished LP cover. Also features DAVE MASON black and white photo and discussion of his upcoming concert on the island of Maui. Low distribution small print run primarily distributed on Maui only (population 125 000 at the time so they probably only printed 2 000 or so maximum). Condition: Light wear light creases. PAE Graded Near Mint “89”

Round Records was the Grateful Dead's own short lived record company to distribute their solo albums like “Garcia Compliments” “Keith & Donna” and “Seastones with Phil Lesh”) LP cover in full color.
