This handbill is signed & doodled in pencil by the artist Stanley Mouse!
As only the third example of this Handbill we have offered this lot is a special treat! Here’s your chance to acquire a CGC Graded Original Handbill of one of the most iconic and enduring images in the entire hobby. The famous FD14 “Zig-Zag Man” advertises a pair of concerts by Big Brother and The Holding Company and Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco California.
The poster for this concert featuring the same artwork is virtually unavailable in this condition and we will buy any mint copy for well into 5 figures. This is your chance to acquire the same beautiful artwork on a handbill for a fraction of the price!
This Handbill is quite beautiful literally and we are hard pressed to understand why it did not receive a higher 9.8 grade. The paper is bright and crisp the colors are bold and fresh. And of course there are no pinholes tears folds nicks or restoration of any kind. A superb museum quality gem tied for the FINEST quality of this handbill we've ever auctioned! In October 2018 a lower 9.4 graded example reached $1840 in our auction and it wasn't signed. SIGNED Handbills are currently one of the hottest segments of the market. See our blog dated 5/18/18 for details!
