Here we have the FIRST CGC Graded example of this original poster to appear in our auction! This piece for a two day bill at the Avalon features an all time classic Mouse/Kelley design. The duo very cleverly used popular culture images as design themes for many of their early works.
The original printing poster of this issue is one of the true “sleepers” in the series as it is deceptively difficult to locate in true MINT condition. Heavily damaged copies can be found with just moderate effort but many pieces out there have been restored. This museum quality specimen is 100% Original with no restoration of any kind!
In June 2014 an example in similar condition reached $2243 in our auction but it was not CGC certified. In another public auction our records show a CGC graded 9.4 example brought $3565 on 4/17/16. It is safe to say we may not see another Pre-Concert First Printing in this amazing condition for a long time.
