This poster is signed in pencil by the artist Victor Moscoso!

One of the most popular pieces of artwork promoting one of history's most beloved bands! It's the first Grateful Dead poster created by Victor Moscoso and it is commonly referred to as the Hippie Santa Claus. This striking Green and Red design announced a pair of late December shows at The Avalon featuring the Dead Steve Miller and Moby Grape.

In November 2018 a lower 9.4 graded signed example reached a record price of $1380 in our auction. This signed 9.6 example shines in Superb Museum Quality Condition! More and more collectors are coming into the fold with the knowledge that artist signatures add a whole other dimension to their treasures. Read our blog dated 1/20/18 where we discuss the skyrocketing demand for signed material such as this lot!
