This is the FIRST CGC Graded example of this seldom seen Grateful Dead handbill to appear in our auction! Approximately seven months after The Family Dog were forced out of the Avalon Ballroom Chet Helms opened up shop on the Great Highway. The site was at the former Edgewater Ballroom part of the Playland at the Beach complex.

Due to budget constraints relatively few posters were produced for the shows at 660 Great Highway. Mostly handbills were used to promote those concerts and they were printed in small quantities. Here the Dead and Commander Cody are featured for this 3 day run of shows in early 1970. This is a Randy Tuten designed original handbill with amazing eye appeal that does not surface very often and here is your chance to grab it!
