We are proud to offer this super rare early Pink Floyd Original Handbill for the FIRST TIME in our auction! This first printing handbill is stamped and postmarked on the reverse side (see second photo)! This was part of Pink Floyd’s FIRST US TOUR and their first appearance in the Los Angeles area! The shows during this era were the last hurrah for original member / songwriter / guitarist Syd Barrett. By early-mid 1968 he had been replaced by David Gilmour.
When speaking about the group’s concert at The Cheetah Club on November 5th The Los Angeles Free Press wrote: “The unbelievable sound of Pink Floyd was first heard through a hurricane of colour bringing total sensual involvement of audience and performers.”
The historic Cheetah Club was one of the hottest places to play if you were an up & coming band in the late sixties. Frank Zappa discovered the “Alice Cooper Band” there in 1967 and signed them to his label. Janis Joplin and Buffalo Springfield also played there in their early days!
Reprints of this issue have been produced over the years however THIS example is an Original Pre-Concert First Printing! Very few original printing issues still exist today from this historic venue in ANY condition. This scarce piece is sure to spark interest from collectors and enjoy spirited bidding.
