“Fire and Ice” was a 1983 epic fantasy-adventure film directed by Ralph Bakshi. The production was a collaboration between Bakshi and noted artist Frank Frazetta. This is an original character sketch by Frazetta for that film done in pencil during pre-production! His art drawings and sketches are extremely celebrated and collected across the globe. This lot includes a certificate of authenticity!
Frank Frazetta was known for his oil watercolor ink and pencil illustrations in the popular culture and science fiction realms. Best remembered for his extensive work in the comic book industry Frazetta began his career studying at the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Arts and later would contribute to a many forms of media including book covers fine art painting posters and vinyl album covers. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1999. He passed away on May 10 2010 in Fort Myers FL.
