Attention Cream collectors! This is the FIRST CGC graded example of the famous and popular "Ming" Postcard from the Grande to appear in our auction! 1967 was the first year that the powerhouse group Cream played in the United States. This run of concert performances in Detroit took place just months after the release of their second album.

The Grande Ballroom series produced some of the finest imagery from the 1960’s music scene. In many cases promoter Russ Gibb chose to produce postcards to promote events. That being the case Grande cards and card sets have become one of the most highly sought after items by serious collectors. The print runs were low and the artwork was equally compelling with artists like Gary Grimshaw and Carl Lundgren creating visual masterworks on a weekly basis. The material is obscenely difficult to find in undamaged condition plus the history of the Grande is as interesting as any of the San Francisco dance halls.

In this postcard lot we are offering one of the images that collectors of the Grande series “Cream” for! The Ming is one of the major set breakers for the Grande series. The original postcard almost never comes up for public sale and we have never seen an undamaged copy. If one of the original POSTERS were to surface it would easily fetch a five-figure sum. Here is your chance to own one of the hardest to find psychedelic era concert designs of all time for much less than the poster would command. If you are a collector of rare Grande items this lot is for you!
