The FD-20 Five Men in a Boat is a classic! This amazing Mouse/Kelley design was created using a wonderful “split fountain” printing technique which yields each individual copy its own unique color variation and eye appeal. The FD-20 is one of the key pieces in building a Family Dog set. Only a handful of CGC graded examples have appeared at public auction each attracting very active bidding. We expect this lot to enjoy the same attention.
Last year in another public auction a CGC Graded 9.8 example reached a high $15 500 sale total. The 7.0 Graded piece here will provide collectors seeking this poster a chance to win it for much less than the Mint copies command. In May 2018 a same 7.0 graded example brought $921 in our auction and it wasn't SIGNED. This example here bares a beautiful signature from Stanley Mouse! More and more collectors are coming into the fold with the knowledge that artist signatures add a whole other dimension to their treasures.
