Marty Balin's unfortunate passing last year has spurred a massive interest in anything related to Jefferson Airplane a trend that's in the earliest of stages. This Wes Wilson Original First Printing issue from 1966 is highly sought after as just the 4th issue in the Bill Graham Fillmore series. This beautiful example here is exhibits super bright colors with no pinholes cuts tears or restoration of any kind. It looks breathtaking to say the least. It seems to us this poster is very conservatively graded. Exceedingly difficult to find in this amazing state of preservation – what would have previously been described as MINT!
Since the inception of PAE 10 years ago we have consistently advised collectors to focus on the first 30 issues of the Bill Graham series. History has proved our advise was correct then and we are sticking with it now. These early issues from the first year of the Fillmore Auditorium enjoy tremendous collector demand for the tiny and dwindling supply of high quality examples. It's another landmark lot for us because it's only the second CGC Graded specimen we've seen of this issue SIGNED by the artist Wes Wilson!
