Original pre-concert first printing of Big Brother at the Avalon! The FD 93 poster by artist Joe Gomez is well known as a rather unique design in the Family Dog series. The artist only did a few posters for the Avalon but “Optical Occlusion” stands out because its bright color patterns remind us of some of the Neon Rose posters. As a Big Brother / Janis Joplin poster it has always been acquired by collectors and showcased in many fans’ treasure troves.
Anyone can say they have a decent copy but examples that meet the super strict CGC grading standards of 9.8 are a TINY fraction of surviving examples and are ridiculously undervalued and under appreciated at today's market levels. In June 2018 a same graded 9.8 example reached $489 in our auction. This popular Big Brother title will simply continue to rise in value as perfect mint copies begin to disappear.
