1963-Forest Hills Music Festival-Ray Charles-Joan Baez Concert Program-Early Bob Dylan Appearance! PAE Graded Excellent “79”

This vintage and rare original program is from the 1963 Forest Hills Music Festival held in New York City. Two original printings of this program were produced with green and blue covers this example here being the blue. This piece has significant importance in the world of early folk music during that era. There was a special surprise guest!

As listed in the show program the impressive array of performers included Ray Charles Ella Fitzgerald The Kingston Trio Johnny Mathis and Sammy Davis Jr. however perhaps most notable was the set played by folk legend Joan Baez. Towards the end of her set her friend the one and only BOB DYLAN made a guest appearance and performed “Farewell” “Troubled And I Don't Know Why” and “Blowin' In The Wind” with her! 

Also included in this program are artist biographies and LP advertisements for the listed performers. A real piece of musical history! Vintage concert programs from the 60’s are harder to find with each passing year. As quantities of available programs decrease the more collectible they become.
