This cardboard poster was only posted around Los Angeles as a promotion for the Rolling Stones album release of “Some Girls”. They didn’t last long because some of the celebrities in the artwork sued the Stones for use of their image and the artwork was banned – making this a very rare and desirable poster!

The historic Colby Poster Printing Company produced promotional material between 1948 and 2012 and they became legendary for their signature fluorescent inks and bold all-caps typography although none of the original staff had any formal design training. They were members of the letterpress union the screen printers union and the typesetters union. Original cardboard posters are super popular and remain one of the most highly sought after type of concert memorabilia ever known.

In another public auction during November 2017 a lower graded "near mint" example with "creases and dings" reached a high water mark of $1375.00.
