This piece features artwork from beloved poster artist Rick Griffin. This cartoon alien image is amongst the most popular designs from the short lived Denver Family Dog Series. The poster is one of the best Doors posters ever produced and the only one done for the band by this highly collected artist. The lettering is also one of the more difficult to decipher of any of Ricks work.
Great artwork great artist great band and it’s in beautiful museum quality condition! In September 2018 a same graded 9.6 example realized a high water mark of $1955 in our auction. High grade mint examples of this rare original first printing poster always generate heavy bidding and much deserved attention!
