This poster is signed in pencil by the artist Victor Moscoso!

One of the most popular pieces of artwork promoting one of history's most beloved bands! It's the first Grateful Dead poster created by Victor Moscoso and it is commonly referred to as the Hippie Santa Claus. This striking Green and Red design announced a pair of late December shows at The Avalon featuring the Dead Steve Miller and Moby Grape.

In September 2018 a slightly higher 9.8 graded example reached a record price of $1495 but it was not signed. This is just the 4th CGC graded example of this poster we have auctioned...and the FIRST SIGNED we've ever offered! More and more collectors are coming into the fold with the knowledge that artist signatures add a whole other dimension to their treasures. Read our blog dated 1/20/18 where we discuss the skyrocketing demand for signed material such as this lot!
