Smokey the Bear says “SMOKE”! The FD 16 is one of the most popular concert posters ever created by two of the most legendary artists of all time Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley. Here the duo’s take on another icon of popular culture. Just 1000 posters were originally produced. Very few have survived in this state of preservation and demand far outstrips the available supply.
This beautiful 9.2 example here is 100% Original with no nicks cuts tears or pinholes. It's also unique because the red run is printed slightly off register. This is just the fouth 9.0 or higher example to appear at public auction with CGC grading. In April 2017 a same graded example realized $1162 in our auction. A slightly higher 9.4 example brought $1905 on 9/11/16 and we sold a 9.6 graded example that was signed for $4899 on 1/18/17.
