This original handbill being offered for the FIRST TIME in our auction is a true miracle piece! This Bob Dylan show in New York on April 12 1963 is widely considered to be his first major live performance and a pivotal moment in the singer's career. A month after this show Dylan released his second album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” which was a landmark record.
Early Bob Dylan material rarely sells at public auction as Dylan pieces are almost always held back primarily trading privately for some other major rarity instead of being sold for currency. For one to surface in this absolute perfect pristine MUSEUM quality is almost unheard of and when it does collectors across the globe take notice.
This ultra rare handbill features a striking black and white picture of Dylan with his guitar and harmonica along with reviews / quotes from the New York Times BBC Radio Times and more. Archive records indicate around 900 people attended the concert which didn’t even sell out.
